1891ના એંગ્લો-મણિપુરી યુદ્ધ દરમિયાન મણિપુરની સ્વતંત્રતા જાળવવા માટે ખોંગજોમના યુદ્ધમાં અંગ્રેજો સામે લડતા વીર સપૂતો ને શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ અર્પણ કરવા મણીપુર માં આ દિવસ મનાવામાં આવે છે.
થોબલ જિલ્લાના ખેબાચિંગ ખાતે ખોંગજોમ વોર મેમોરિયલ કોમ્પ્લેક્સ ખાતે રાજ્ય કક્ષાના ખોંગજોમ દિવસની ઉજવણી કરવામાં આવી હતી.
